empressissi™ is pleased to offer this amazing top class 18 size ELGIN USA pocket watch in 14K solid gold case. The watch was serviced here in our atelier and is running well, keeping good time!
This watch is part of a large 'Virginia Collection' we offer for sale, from an avid collector of mostly American made solid gold watches.
The watch houses an early grade 27 B.W. Raymond model crown wind/lever set movement in decorated nickel finish, estimated to 1894 and is a fine American made movement.
The movement is cased in a superb BWC Co. 14K hallmarked solid yellow gold case in classic Continental motif of turned engine with Victorian foliage on the base. It has good hinges, tight bow, good crown, functional lift spring and overall is extremely well preserved all around with a mint mineral crystal.
The dial is a factory original in classic Roman numeral style with no evident damage and has an original set of hands.
This fantastic American pocket watch measures 56mm side to side (excluding crown), The case alone weighs 88g without the crystal and movement.
